11.00 – 12.30     Siemens Tour
Meeting Point: 1 Siemens Brothers Way, E16 1GB
Guests are invited for an overview of the building’s sustainable technologies and what makes the The Crystal one of the world’s most sustainable buildings, looking at plant rooms, energy efficient events areas and other backstage parts normally closed to the public, including the ground source heat pump, air handling units, community garden and rainwater harvesting plant. This will be followed by a visit to their exhibition, the world’s largest dedicated to urban sustainability. It looks at cities in the year 2050, the main challenges they will be facing such as urbanisation, climate change and demographic change, and technologies that will help them become more sustainable and combat these issues – renewable energies, water recycling, smart buildings, transport solutions and more.

12.15 – 15.00     Thames Tideway Tour
Meeting Point: Westminster Pier
Thames Tideway are a large multi billion pound infrastructure project in London focussed on updating our Victorian drainage and sewerage system. On this tour, you’ll be taking a ride along the river in a Thames Clipper to learn more about the works taking place along the river, viewing 12 different sites including Victoria Embankment, Blackfriars, Chambers Wharf, Falconbrook Pumping Station and more!

14.00 – 14.45     Crick Institute Tour
Meeting Point: The Francis Crick Institute, 1 Midland Road, NW1 1AT
Step inside the largest biomedical research institute under one roof in Europe. You’ll be able to see the collaborative design of the building within which over 1250 science work, catch a glimpse of our unique labs and find out some fun facts about the building.

14.00 – 15.00     Crossrail Tour
Meeting Point: 25 Canada Square, Canary Wharf
Crossrail is Europe’s largest infrastructure project stretching 118km from Reading and Heathrow Airport in the west through 42km of new tunnels under central London and out to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. The visit to Crossrail’s Canary Wharf station will provide guests with an opportunity to learn more about the project and visit one of the ten brand new stations to see the scale and transformative impact that this project will have on London and the South East.

14.30 – 15.30      Imperial College Tour – Hamlyn Center

Meeting Point: Imperial College – South Kensington Campus

Guests will also be able to visit The Hamlyn Centre, which was established for developing safe, effective and accessible technologies that can reshape the future of healthcare for both developing and developed countries. Focusing on technological innovation, but with a strong emphasis on clinical translation and direct patient benefits with global impacts, the Centre is at the forefront of research in imaging, sensing and robotics for addressing global health challenges associated with demographic, environmental, social and economic changes. The visit will show case the most up to date innovations in the field.

15.30 – 16.30      Imperial College Tour
Meeting Point: Imperial College – South Kensington Campus
The KPMG Data Observatory is a data visualisation studio and decision-making space, housed in the Data Science Institute. The Data Observatory will facilitate decision-making through immersive, multi-dimensional presentation of data and analysis that allows decision makers to participate in exploring data, weighing the findings of triangulating analytical exercises, translating analytical findings into insights, and deriving the implications and actions suggested by insights from the analytics.
